Libero AI has signed an agreement with The University of Queensland to commercialise CaNeTA and transform Risk Management

March 19, 2025 – Brisbane, Australia – Libero AI is proud to announce its' agreement with The University of Queensland (UQ), a leading institution in research and innovation, to utilise Causal Network Topology Analysis (CaNeTA) for Risk Register Quality Assessment. This groundbreaking risk management method was developed by UQ's Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) and aims to transform decision-making processes across industries.

CaNeTA provides organisations with a powerful tool to model and analyse risk landscapes as interconnected networks of causally related events. By visualising risks as nodes connected by causal relationships, CaNeTA enables decision-makers to identify influential risks, assess network robustness, and optimise strategies for managing complex operational challenges. This approach complements traditional risk management systems by integrating diverse data sources and revealing critical insights hidden within risk registers.

Dr Ben Seligmann, the lead researcher behind CaNeTA at UQ's SMI, emphasised its potential:

“CaNeTA allows organisations to move beyond managing risks individually by connecting them to their multi-dimensional context. This holistic perspective supports informed decision-making and enables planners to allocate resources effectively based on the interconnected nature of risks.”

Libero AI, known for leveraging AI to drive operational excellence in heavy industries, will work closely with UQ to bring CaNeTA to market. The collaboration will focus on refining the methodology, enhancing the software, and applying CaNeTA across various sectors, including mining, infrastructure, finance, and utilities.

Richard Marshall, Founder and Principal Consultant of Libero AI, stated:

“We are thrilled to partner with The University of Queensland on this innovative project. CaNeTA aligns perfectly with our mission to unlock the transformative potential of AI for strategic decision-making. Together, we aim to empower industries with cutting-edge tools that address complex challenges and improve performance.”

This agreement highlights UQ’s commitment to fostering industry collaborations that translate research into impactful solutions. UQ has long been at the forefront of AI innovation, co-designing technologies with industry partners to tackle global challenges.
